Aida L. Báez, PE
Ms. Báez obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. At the beginning of her career in Massachusetts, she worked mostly in industrial projects all over the United States. Later she moved to Las Vegas, NV where she engaged in a diverse array of projects and design styles, including commercial, government, healthcare, and higher-education, and participated in multiple award-winning designs, including LEED- certified Silver and Gold projects.
In 2010, she moved to South Florida where she increased her knowledge even further with projects in hospitality, entertainment, parking structures, port terminals, and airport terminals all while enriching her experience in reinforced concrete framing and high-velocity wind load designs.
In 2016, she worked at a world renown corporation, where she honed her design skills and participated in multiple high-profile projects in South Florida, the U.S. and Europe.
In 2023 Ms. Baez was featured in The Smithsonian Channel’s documentary series "Ten Steps to Disaster” Season 2 Episode 1 “Surfside Condo Collapse”. She provided her Structural Engineering expertise to describe the engineering aspects that led to the collapse of this building and tragic event.
Clifton Newkirk, PE, SI
Mr. Newkirk obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, providing him with an education of the full gamut of building systems with a focus on structures. Currently, he is completing his Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Central Florida.
He began his engineering career in Jupiter, FL, where he rapidly gained experience in the design and analysis of new and existing buildings. He then went on to broaden his experience in Miami where he mastered his skills in rehabilitation and remediation of existing structures. His projects encompassed providing threshold and special inspections for high-rise structures, construction management services, and support for expert testimony.
In 2016, he joined the Structural Department at a world renown corporation, providing design and inspection services along with project management for an array of projects in multiple sectors including government, hospitality and transportation.
In 2024 Mr. Newkirk became the Engineer of Record and Special Inspector for the World's first pickleball stadium, at The Fort Pickleball Complex in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
